Vehicle Description 1963 Chrysler 300 Convertible VIN# 8233218855 Mileage Shown:
00452 Engine:
383 cu in V8; 305 HP Transmission:
Torque-Flite 3 speed automatic operated by push buttons on the dash! This 1963 Chrysler 300 Convertible is a rare car mid-century Chrysler in original unrestored condition.
The 1963 Chrysler 300 Convertible was the official pace car for the 47th Indianapolis 500 Race on May 30, 1963.
According to our research, there were only 1535 of this model built for 1963.
Purchased new in Seattle, this 1963 Chrysler 300 convertible was a one-owner vehicle until its acquisition by a major Northwest collection in 2011.
It has the original engine and transmission.
The engine is complete, looks and sounds good, and runs smooth.
The transmission operates and works through the gears.
The convertible top rear window is pulled loose and needs repair.
The top motor runs but the top doesn't move.
All the mechanical parts of the top are good, but the fluid reservoir is empty.
The interior is in Tan vinyl and appears to be original to the car.
It has a couple of seam splits (seen in photos) and the original carpet shows normal wear and tear.
The dash is complete and gauges are working and in good condition.
The original radio is present plus an 8-track tape player has been added.
The car will need a brake job as it has been sitting on display for many years.
The Park Brake however does work.
The car comes with the original iconic 300 logo center cap hub caps that are in wonderful condition.
The tires show well but are over 15 years old so would need to be replaced to safely drive the car.
Some places on the body have been repaired and the car has been repainted in places in its original color, Alabaster.
Looking closely, the body has some cancerous rust spots found in the inner rocker panels, the trunk floor, the floor pans and rear quarter panels as unfortunately can happen with convertibles.
The frame/body however is very good and there is still plenty in the body to work with and is worthy of a restoration.
This 63 Chrysler 300 Convertible has spent its life in the Seattle area.
This car is a fabulous mid-century and historic classic collector car you could to basic repair and preserve to keep all original or to do a full restoration.
You want an unusual weekend driver, you could fix the brakes and patch some of the rust spots and enjoy it as it is.
The sale also includes owner's manual and Chrysler/Imperial 1963 Service manual, two sets of keys.
The car has been a part of a museum's large collection of cars; it has been garaged inside, preserved and serviced for storage with fuel drained and stabilized, and fluids checked and regularly changed, battery removed for use as a display/exhibit car for many years.
Auction sale as it with no reserve.
