Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element):
Ability to do the work of an Exhibit Maker without more than normal supervision:
follow written work orders as outlined to plan and select materials (e.g. wood, metal, plastic, rubber, and plaster), select parts (e.g. nails, screws, bolts, glue, rivets, etc.) and select tools (e.g. hand held tools, power tools) to construct, full size or scale model visual displays, training devices, or exhibits for educational and informational purposes. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Incumbent stands on hard floors for extended periods, stoops, bends, kneels, reaches, lifts, pushes, pulls, and works in tiring, awkward, and uncomfortable positions and at times climbs and work on ladders. Frequently lifts items weighing up to 10 pounds but no more than 39 pounds. When making high production runs of devices incumbent may be required to work at a rapid work pace for extended periods. The items worked on range from small delicate models to large awkward panels of wood. Incumbent must have above average eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity to work with intricate items. Vision requirements include good depth perception and color discrimination. WORKING CONDITIONS:
Incumbent works in wood, metal, and plastic fabrication shops and occasionally outside areas. There is frequent exposure to dirt, noise, dust, paint, chemicals and their fumes (which may cause eye, skin, or lung irritation), glue, and burns/shocks injuries while welding, forming, shaping, and/or cutting metal. Possible injuries include cuts, burns, scrapes, broken bones, wood/metal splinters, electric shock, eye injury from welding and burns/irritation from chemicals and fumes. Incumbent observes the many and varied health and safety regulations of each shop area. The protective devices equipment and clothing worn (e.g. aprons, gloves, safety glasses, face shields, earplugs, helmets, welding hoods, etc.) may cause discomfort when worn for extended periods. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
