Basic Qualifications

Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a WIN-T Field Support Representative. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:Installs and repairs equipment; instructs customers in equipment operation; provides technical assistance; checks equipment for malfunctions. Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations. Troubleshoots technical problems and issues, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommends actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution. Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications. Conducts technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors and company representatives. Acts as local on-site representative to customer's organization.Performs field activities associated with installing, maintaining, integrating, troubleshooting, testing and servicing of fielded systems/products at customer sitesDiagnoses and repairs mechanical, hardware, software and systems failures using established procedures and submits reports on system reliability metrics to technical/regional support centersSets up and utilizes specialized test and diagnostic equipment to isolate malfunctionsConducts start-up, cutover and checkout activities on newly installed systemsWorks with more senior Field Support Reps to plan and emplace system configuration to meet specific mission requirementsConducts technical seminars and training for customer or company personnel, informal on the job training for other field service staff members and customers, and over-the-shoulder/refresher training to users in the field as requiredInterfaces with Customers, Military Personnel, Government dignitaries, External consultants/experts, technical staff, employees and managers across the companyWorks under general supervisionTravel required more than 50% of the timeMay deploy and operate with US Forces to CONUS or OCONUS field locations, including combat operationsTypically handles moderately complex products and/or problems, receiving direction from higher level Field Support Representatives or Engineers KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines. Problem Solving: Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable and consistent with organization objectives. Discretion/ Latitude Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Impact: Contributes to completion of specific programs and projects. Failure to obtain results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources. Liaison: Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. Represents organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects. Working Knowledge of technologies associated with supported systems and the application of these technologies within the customer environment Knowledge of basic routing/switching commands/protocolsProficient in the use of software tools such as HyperTerminalStrong verbal and written communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to work independentlyWorking knowledge of test and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.Comprehensive knowledge of basic tool safety
CompTIA Security
CE certification required within six months of hire date
Experience and knowledge working with WIN-T Increment 1 and Increment 2 networks and Industry certifications are highly preferred

Department of Defense SECRET security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
