The Cage Cashier I is responsible for performing entry level cage cashiering in a casino environment.
Duties include receiving and exchanging cash, checks and gaming chips from patrons, handles and processes department fills, credits and bank reimbursements and transactions.
Prepares cash drawer reconciliation and accounting records, counts and maintains department tokes, maintains records for accuracy, receives, verifies and drops all department revenue, verifies and records fills and credits utilizing CTL's, ensures ticket redemption machines are maintained and in proper working orders while ensuring they have the appropriate currency and coin levels, receives cash revenues from count rooms and prepares daily deposits.
Provides superior guest service to and internal personnel and patrons of the casino.
Performs additional job duties as assigned by the department manager.
Starting wage is $20.
89/hr plus tips increasing to $21.
42/hr plus tips at successful completion of 90-day orientation period.
Education:
High School Diploma of GED equivalent is required.
Experience & Requirements:
Minimum one year previous cash handling experience is required.
One year previous check cashing experience (banking or casino experience preferred).
Must have good math skills (cage cashier test is required).
Ten-key experience is required.
Additional education and or experience may substitute for the minimum requirements of this position.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for longer than 8 hours.
Must have good manual and finger dexterity.
Must have good hand and eye coordination.
Must be able to bend, reach and squat.
Must have the ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Must have the mobility to climb stairs on a routine basis.
Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.
Additional Requirements:
Must be able to pass a pre-employment illegal drug screen.
Upon offer must obtain Class III A Gaming License ($273-$335).
Must be able to work all scheduled shifts to include day, swing, graveyard and holidays.
