University Of Washington University Of Washington Tacoma, WA Tacoma, WA Temporary Full-time Temporary Full-time $36 an hour $36 an hour UW Tacoma Psychological & Wellness Services has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time, Licensed Psychologist or Postdoctoral Resident in Counseling or Clinical Psychology.
This is an in-person position, with the possibility of some work-from-home options.
This individual will provide culturally competent mental health counseling services for a diverse population of UW Tacoma students; mental health consultations, outreach workshops, and developmental programming; and provide clinical training to advanced doctoral practicum students and pre-doctoral interns in counseling and clinical psychology.
Additionally, this postdoctoral resident position will also include the opportunity to receive training in higher education Health Promotion and Health Education efforts.
All duties must be performed in a manner consistent with the Revised Code of Washington, Washington Administrative Code, and the American Psychological Association's (APA) Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct.
The responsibility for this position includes:
30% - Providing routine and crisis mental health assessment and interventions for UWT students; Formulating treatment goals and making effective referrals to appropriate healthcare resources after assessment; 20% - Conducting individual, group, and couple psychotherapy, conceptualizing and utilizing psychological theory and research findings in case formulation and treatment planning; 20% - Communicating with other professionals about case conceptualization and management when collaborating in the care of a client; Providing consultation to faculty and staff regarding mental health issues with students; 10% - Maintaining accurate records in a timely fashion; 10% - Providing didactic clinical training to doctoral psychology interns and practicum trainees, completion of supervision evaluations, and other professional development for trainees and provide feedback to training director about trainee performance; 10% - Assisting with program evaluation and assessment to inform health promotion programming; Assisting with development and implementation of mental health promotion outreach and support; Required Qualifications Licensed Psychologist candidates:
Ph.
D.
or Psy.
D.
in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from APA accredited program.
Pre-doctoral internship must have been completed in an APPIC-registered facility; APA-accredited internship preferred.
Licensure in WA State or another U.
S.
jurisdiction.
If licensed in another U.
S.
jurisdiction, must obtain WA State licensure within six months of hire.
Minimum of two years of clinical experience as a licensed psychologist is strongly preferred.
A minimum of one year experience in a university counseling center (can include internship year).
Postdoc candidates:
Completion of a year-long APA-accredited doctoral internship/residency; Completion of all required program coursework, qualifying/preliminary/comprehensive examinations, and dissertation proposal from a regionally accredited doctoral program in clinical or counseling psychology; Experience providing crisis, individual, couples, group therapy with adults in an outpatient setting; a Interest in and commitment to university counseling work and college student development; Interest and experience in working with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program; Experience working in a university counseling center; Experience in providing graduate-level clinical training and supervision; Experience and interest in providing outreach/prevention workshops and presentations; Experience and interest in outreach/prevention program development and evaluation; This temporary opportunity is being provided via the UTemp Staffing program at the University of Washington.
