Medical Scribe BASIC FUNCTION:
Provides patient care under the direction and supervision of a physician and/or physician assistant.
DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
General
Responsibilities:
Manages assigned physician's daily schedule and patient flow Maintains compliance with current OSHA and infections waste management standards Facilitates communication between practice team and physicians to meet patient needs Adheres to practice's Safety, Risk Management, and Universal Precautions standards Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures Dictation/facing/phone calls and clerical tasks Prepare referral letters as directed by the physician, via dictation of the last medical record Ensure letters are mailed or faxed on a daily basis to all physicians involved in a patient's care Scribes are expected to assist with catching mistakes or inconsistencies in medical documentation Medical Scribes collect, organize and catalog data for physician quality reporting systems EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED.

Experience:
Minimum six months' experience previous experience in orthopaedic healthcare preferred JOB KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
General Skills & Knowledge:
Must be able to speak, read and write the English language Must have knowledge of medical terminology.
Basic orthopaedic anatomy helpful Must be skilled in performance of basic computer/keyboard functions Must be able to communicate effectively Must be able to organize work and establish priorities PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Required to sit, stand and walk continuously.
Work is of moderate demand with occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
Activities include frequent stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, and occasional kneeling, crawling, and squatting.
High frequency of telephone usage and computer keyboarding is present.
Ability to see, hear, and speak continuously at a level to meet all essential functions of the job.
Work is of high attention and mental demands including the ability to prioritize and process with accuracy.
CONDITIONS:
Working schedule is during normal business hours of 08:
00 to 5:
00, Monday through Friday.
May be required to work occasionally on Saturday or Sunday, if necessary, to meet work assignment deadlines or meet the needs of the employer.
May be required to work overtime or have work schedule adjusted to meet practice volume.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must pass a criminal background check with Washington State Patrol.
