Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systemsExamples of specialized experience includes:
Utilization of computer equipment, internal computer processes, application and utility programs, and magnetic media; Troubleshooting and resolving problems with information systems equipment located in the organization to include minicomputers, microcomputers, scanners, laser printers, color printers, modems, terminals, and system file servers; Diagnosing and resolving problems with telecommunications, Local Area Network, and Wide Area Network systems to carry out assignments which may not be typical in nature and require adaptation of standard procedures and established practices to ensure a positive outcomeSPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR APPLICANTS WITH NO FEDERAL

o Knowledge of DoD and Air Force automated data processing and networking standards, policies, and techniques.
o Knowledge of computer hardware and software systems and their interfaces.
o Knowledge of higher-level programming languages comparable to COBOL and FORTRAN and job control languages.
o Knowledge of data content and output options for n variety of administrative, scientific and/or technical program applications that are processed on any of several multi-program operating systems.
o Knowledge of facility environment and infrastructure to support computer systems.
o Ability to use and maintain a computer system, equipment, and software including the ability analyze computer network, software, and hardware problems, and develop effective and economical solutions.
o Ability to train users on new computer systems.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
