Almost a hundred years ago, our client company began as an engineering and manufacturing company supplying machinery for the building products industry. As the Composite Wood Panel industry developed in the 1960's and 1970's, the company became involved in producing lines for some of the early particleboard, MDF and wafer board plants. As these industries matured, the company's involvement in the development of the engineered wood industry stimulated growth in the company in terms of size and technical capabilities. Today our client is a leading supplier of custom designed, built, and fully integrated equipment and systems for industries that include plastic composites, automotive, aerospace, pulp and paper, and building products. Much of the companys supply is built to suit their customers particular preferences, and they specialize in developing new solutions to meet each new challenge. More than 20 percent of the company's staff is directly involved, on a full-time basis, in machine design and development. The company's innovativeness in the products they develop is but one reason for their geometrical growth.
An immediate need exists in our Tacoma facility for a Plant Manager. This is one of the company's critical leadership positions as a member of the strategic management team. This position is responsible for working with project management, sales and engineering ensuring projects are budgeted appropriately and for proactive, forward looking resource planning. This position is also responsible for consistently meeting the overall daily operating activities and objectives of the manufacturing, facilities, warehouse, maintenance and production control departments. In addition, this individual will serve as the primary link between the operations, engineering, and materials groups.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and direct oversight of fabrication, machining, assembly, warehouse, facilities, production control and maintenance departments.
Lead daily production meeting promoting a culture of continual improvement and maximum output.
Actively partake in interviews, approval of all hires, and disciplinary actions related to the department.
Proactively balance staffing levels with projected production requirements.
Train and mentor direct reports ensuring cross-functional proficiencies while building internal capabilities.
Establish workflow and assembly methods maximizing the efficiency of the manufacturing process.
Ensure adequate resources are in place with contingency plans developed to meet master schedule requirements and customer delivery dates.
Use all available techniques to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing costs scheduling and lead time reduction initiatives. .
Evaluate standard parts to increase process efficiencies and margin.
Perform and document testing on equipment that is consistent with complexity and risk of that system.
Contribute to a monthly meeting with sales, project management, and engineering to review global project scheduling for the following quarters.
Develop, control, and drive improvement in department budgets and performance metrics ensuring these are consistently met or exceeded.
Ensure operations activities support project plans as outlined by project management.
Proactively work with purchasing ensuring make/buy decisions are made that minimize redundant expenditures, reduce cycle times, and lower inventory levels.
Contribute to the development of corporate strategic planning.
Proactively monitor the maintenance programs for both facilities and equipment ensuring downtime, potential safety liabilities and environmental hazards are minimized.
Establish and maintain the facility, equipment, processes, procedures and training to ensure the highest level of safety for all personnel.
Drive company safety program aiming for a zero accident environment.
Serve as the point person for all inquiries and reporting matters related to EPA, OSHA, Fire Department and the like.
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Production Management, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, Business, or similar preferred.
Minimum of 15 years experience in a manufacturing environment required.
Minimum of 5 years progressive staff management experience in a production environment required.
Demonstrated leadership in an ERP system environment, with conversion experience required.
Proven track record of assembling, leading, and mentoring strong integrated teams required.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
Demonstrated ability to be adaptable, tactful, and lead by example when faced with tight deadlines and fluid environments required.
Energetic leader with strong people management skills required.
Conduct oneself with the highest level of professionalism and ethical standards.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
